Antique Up a Home for Hidden Treasures

Business Hosts over 100 Vendors on Stevens Point’s South Side

By Molly Schecklman – Whether making a shelf out of an old wagon, or a coffee table out of an old storage trunk, it can be done with the treasures that await at Antique Up in Stevens Point.

Tucked away on the city’s south side, Antique Up offers a unique shopping experience with over 100 vendors set up in one location. Each vendor is assigned an area of the store to display their merchandise. Some merchandise is already refurbished, and some just needs a bit of tender loving care to flip that flea market find.

Aside from just having vendors in the store, Antique Up also offers a wide variety of events throughout the year to draw in more vendors and customers. A particularly popular series of events hosted are the flea markets that take place throughout the summer.

“We usually do one per month. Vendors can rent out individual parking spaces in our parking lot and sell their items for the day,” said Alex Tews, Assistant Manager and Marketing Assistant for Antique Up. “We bring in live music as well as food vendors for the events. It really is a fun time with so many neat things to look at. For our outdoor flea markets, we bring in an additional 35-45 vendors.”

Aside from the summer flea markets, Antique Up also offers other events, such as a Pop-Up Vendor Sale where potential vendors are able to come in and sell their merchandise at the store for the day. Or Vendor Refresh, where current vendors can come in after hours to do a complete renovation of their booth.

Vendors are also given the opportunity to bring their friends and family in for a night to shop the store and participate in raffles and prizes. Not only are vendors offering their products, but they are even offering their expertise. A Painting 101 class that is being offered by one of the vendors lets individuals learn the basic techniques of chalk paint, from brush strokes and distressing, to top coats and wax.

Antique Up truly has something for everyone. Boyfriends, husbands, and even those that are difficult to please have even been known to find a hidden treasure in this local antique mall.

Antique Up will be hosting a Brunch & Browse on Wednesday, December 13. People can come into the store to shop and enjoy free coffee and donuts being offered from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. This event allows for customers to take a break during their busy weeks and come shop on their lunch breaks. A $25 gift certificate will also be given away.
