Enjoy camping and free fishing at Buckhorn State Park.

Wisconsin’s state parks and recreation areas are spectacular any time of the year, but especially when admission is free.

Choose June 2-3 as the time to hit the road and enjoy free entry to Wisconsin’s state parks and forests, free fishing on state lakes, free passage on DNR trails, and free ATV/UTV riding on public trails. No pass or sticker is required.

Use the DNR’s handy search tool to find a park and activities that you enjoy. In the Central Wisconsin area, Rib Mountain is the closest state park by Wausau. There, find 13 miles of hiking trails and a spectacular view from the top. It is an ideal spot for families to picnic and for kids to have fun on the playground.

Note that camping fees and fishing limits still apply. More information on this weekend can be found at this link.
