Annual Festival To Be Held for First Time in Seventeen Years
SpencerRama, Spencer’s annual community festival for many years, was last held 17 years ago. This year it returns, featuring fun for all ages.
Featuring food, live music (Dave Edwards Group, Moon Dogs, Bad Down, Draegen Schlayers), a parade, village wide garage sales, crafts, vendors, flea market booths, farmers market, junior shooting demonstration, climbing wall, vintage show, bounce houses, bucket brigade, camp fire, horseshoes, pie and ice cream and more, Spencerama will take place this weekend in Spencer.
Spencer Community Boosters will have an 11U Youth Baseball Tourney Friday and Saturday, hosting five other neighboring towns.
“We’ll have food available both days including our awesome cheese curds,” said Becky Gorst, President of the Spencer Community Boosters, which is one of the organizations participating. “Friday night starting at 7:00 we are hosting the band The Bad Downs at the SKG Hall and will be selling raffle tickets for several cash prizes. Saturday in addition to the tourney we’ll have a bounce house down at the ARC Park (where the tourney is held) and Corn Hole Tourney starting at noon $20 entry per team Top prize $100, 2nd $60, and 3rd is $40.”
Though the event itself is fun, it’s also a chance to showcase a small community that is sometimes overlooked.
“It gives the community a chance to celebrate Spencer,” said Gorst. “We are a great place to live, work, and raise a family. This is an opportunity for the organizations and businesses to show off what they have to offer.”
Everyone in the area (and beyond!) is encouraged to attend and experience a great local community.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun,” said Gorst. “There is a lot of great food, beer garden, activities for the kids all weekend, something for everyone.”
