Bar Features 40 Beers on Tap
Located conveniently in downtown Stevens Point, Guu’s on Main is a casual bar known for its nightlife and wide range of tap beers.

Most of Guu’s forty tap beers come from Central Wisconsin from breweries like O’so, Central Waters, and Point, but also a few from surrounding states. There’s a beer for every taste. Find light, hoppy, malty, and dark beers, and an updated list of what’s on tap can be located on their website. It can be hard to decide on just one, so try a sampler flight to get a taste for a few.
The restaurant is dimly lit inside with plenty of character derived from a historic tiled ceiling, huge heads of game on the walls, and bar hangings. Arcade games like pinball can be found near the back. For a sunnier seat, sit by the window for a view of the street.
Menu options include wraps, burgers, soups, salads, and a lauded fish fry featuring hand-dipped cod and lake perch.
Appetizers feature super nachos, jumbo wings, mozzarella sticks, spinach artichoke dip in a bread bowl, and of course, cheese curds. We tried a Cuban sandwich (pulled pork, ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and Dijon mayo on a grilled ciabatta roll) with hot homemade chili as a substitute, and a small pot of coffee. The meal is served on unique wrapping paper that looks like a newspaper dedicated to fishing stories.
With the cold weather, you can warm up with a hot drink like Irish coffee or white chocolate raspberry hot cocoa. There are also plenty of cocktails to choose from. Food is served until 9 p.m., but the bar is open until the early hours.
Bottom line, Guu’s is an ideal lunch spot while shopping downtown and a bustling Friday night hangout with character.
